Company-Use License

For the Brightspot People Layoff Kit

By purchasing, downloading, accessing, or using this toolkit, the purchasing organization receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the materials as described below. Brightspot People retains ownership of the toolkit’s original written expression, design, branding, compilation, and source materials. This license does not claim ownership over laws, regulations, government forms, or facts that are not copyrightable.

What you may do

Use the toolkit within the purchasing organization for its own HR, People, management, and workforce-reduction work.
Copy, edit, and customize the editable templates for the purchasing organization’s internal use.
Provide completed or customized employee-facing materials to the purchasing organization’s employees, former employees, managers, counsel, benefits administrators, and service providers when reasonably necessary for the organization’s own use.
Share the toolkit internally with employees and contractors working on behalf of the purchasing organization who need access to perform that work.
Maintain reasonable backup and archival copies for the purchasing organization.

What you may not do

Resell, sublicense, rent, publish, post publicly, give away, or otherwise distribute the toolkit or its source files outside the licensed organization.
Share one purchase across unrelated companies, clients, customers, portfolio companies, franchisees, or other legal entities unless a separate license or written permission covers them.
Use the toolkit as a template library or deliverable for consulting clients under a single company-use license. Consultants and agencies need a separate license for each client organization that receives or uses the underlying toolkit materials.
Remove or obscure Brightspot People copyright, brand, or license notices from the base toolkit files.
Repackage, white-label, or use substantial portions of the toolkit to create, market, or sell a competing template, guide, course, membership, database, or digital product.

Use with software and AI tools

You may use private productivity or AI tools to customize the materials for the licensed organization, subject to its confidentiality, security, and data-handling rules.
Do not upload or contribute the toolkit to public repositories, public prompt or template libraries, shared training corpora, or other systems where the underlying files become available to third parties for reuse.

One purchase = one organization

This license covers the legal organization that purchased the toolkit. A receipt or order confirmation can serve as proof of license.
If multiple separate legal entities need to use the toolkit, contact Brightspot People for an appropriate multi-entity or enterprise license.

The toolkit is educational and operational support material. It is not legal, tax, benefits, financial, or other professional advice. Employment laws, benefit-plan terms, notice requirements, and employee facts vary and change. The licensed organization remains responsible for reviewing the materials with qualified counsel, plan administrators, and other advisers as appropriate before use.
